Although our careers began independently, our paths crossed while working through a professional beauty agency on production projects. From the very first collaboration, it became clear that our talents, work ethic, and passion for the beauty industry perfectly complemented one another. What started as a professional partnership quickly evolved into a shared dream of creating something different—something the industry was missing.

Together, we envisioned a space where every guest would feel welcomed, celebrated, and cared for from the moment they walked through the door. That vision became Luxe Lather Lounge—a luxury beauty bar that offers far more than a traditional blowout.

Today, Luxe Lather Lounge is known for creating elevated beauty experiences through signature blowouts, precision haircuts, luxury styling, bridal beauty, event hair and makeup, extensions, and personalized beauty services designed for every occasion.

Our Hair Stylists

Meet Yumi Kotani

Yumi has been a dedicated beauty professional since 2005, building an extensive career rooted in artistry, education, and innovation.

Beginning her journey with Paul Mitchell, Yumi developed advanced expertise in luxury hairstyling, precision haircutting, and professional hair extensions. Her passion for continual education led her to train extensively throughout her career while also traveling to educate fellow stylists and salon professionals.

Her experience extends far beyond the salon floor. Throughout her career, Yumi has helped build and develop multiple successful salon businesses while working across numerous areas of the beauty industry. She spent years working in Los Angeles within production styling, collaborating on editorial projects and creative productions, while also traveling to style for New York Fashion Week across multiple seasons.

These opportunities allowed her to refine both technical excellence and luxury guest care, creating the foundation for the elevated experience guests receive at Luxe Lather Lounge today.

After years of traveling and building her career, Yumi returned home to San Diego, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and a vision for a truly luxury beauty destination.

Meet Korina Stratton

Korina began her professional beauty career in 2006, bringing a unique blend of makeup artistry, hair design, and luxury guest service to every appointment.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Korina entered the beauty industry as a professional makeup artist with Estée Lauder, where she mastered complexion artistry, color theory, and luxury cosmetic application while providing exceptional client experiences.

Her passion naturally expanded into hairstyling, allowing her to become a versatile artist capable of creating complete beauty transformations. Throughout her career, Korina has continued to train across multiple disciplines within the beauty industry, developing expertise in both hair and makeup while remaining committed to ongoing education and the latest techniques.
